I’ve got to be honest with you, adventurers: I’m not getting a lot done this week.
Remember when I said it took me a while to realize that going freelance meant I needed to reconsider how I was structuring some major parts of my life?
Well, for me, one of those big changes was moving to a new home.
My husband and I decided that, given how my income fluctuates now, we should be living somewhere with cheaper rent. This would:
- lower our living expenses during months when my income is down; and
- raise our savings for months when my income is up.
We expected to have to downgrade our living arrangements a little to make that happen, but to be quite honest, we seriously lucked out. We found an apartment only 3 blocks from where we currently live, with about the same amount of space, for about 2/3 of the rent we’re paying now.
I know… how does that even happen?!
As a result, though, my apartment currently looks like this:
On top of that, I’ve spent at least half of every day this week sorting, packing, boxing, and moving. We’re almost done… and then comes the part where we move into the new place.
All that to say… I don’t have much to say today, and if I did, it would be about how to declutter or the most efficient way to pack boxes. Not what I think you’re here for!
So have a relaxing weekend, and I will (hopefully) be back next week with more freelance goodness.
